Backstreet Boys are an American boy band formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1993. They are one of the best-selling boy bands of all time, with over 100 million records sold worldwide. Their posters graced many a teenage girls bedroom wall but are bit past their sell-by date now! The band consists of AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell.
1993 The Backstreet Boys are formed by Lou Pearlman.
1996 Release their debut international album "Backstreet Boys” which becomes a massive hit in Europe and Asia.
1997 Release their self-titled debut album in the United States, featuring hits like "Quit Playing Games (with My Heart)."
1999 Release "Millennium” which becomes one of the best-selling albums of all time.
2000 Release "Black & Blue” which continues their commercial success.
2002 Go on a hiatus due to management issues and individual member projects.
2005 Release "Never Gone” marking their return to the music scene.
2006 Kevin Richardson leaves the group to pursue other interests.
2012 Kevin Richardson rejoins the group.
2013 Release "In a World Like This” coinciding with their 20th anniversary.
2019 Release "DNA” which debuts at number one on the Billboard 200.
