Backstreet Boys are an American boy band formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1993. They are one of the best-selling boy bands of all time, with over 100 million records sold worldwide. Their posters graced many a teenage girls bedroom wall but are bit past their sell-by date now! The band consists of AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell.
1993: The Backstreet Boys are formed by Lou Pearlman.
1996: Release their debut international album "Backstreet Boys” which becomes a massive hit in Europe and Asia.
1997: Release their self-titled debut album in the United States, featuring hits like "Quit Playing Games (with My Heart)."
1999: Release "Millennium” which becomes one of the best-selling albums of all time.
2000: Release "Black & Blue” which continues their commercial success.
2002: Go on a hiatus due to management issues and individual member projects.
2005: Release "Never Gone” marking their return to the music scene.
2006: Kevin Richardson leaves the group to pursue other interests.
2012: Kevin Richardson rejoins the group.
2013: Release "In a World Like This” coinciding with their 20th anniversary.
2019: Release "DNA” which debuts at number one on the Billboard 200.
