Early Life Shania had to put her life on hold to bring up her siblings after the death of her parents. She had hardship, once living in a remote cabin with only a stream for running water! She took a job doing 11 matinee shows at a remote Casino to provide for her family. It was only when they graduated High School when she was 25 that she could concentrate on her career. If that doesn’t tell you a lot about her nothing else will.

Divorce and Betrayal In 2008, Twain's marriage to producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange ended in divorce after 14 years. The split was highly publicized due to Lange's alleged affair with Twain's best friend, Marie-Anne Thiébaud.

Twain later married Frédéric Thiébaud, Marie-Anne's ex-husband, in 2011.

Health Struggles Twain suffered from dysphonia, a vocal cord disorder, which she attributed to Lyme disease. This condition led to a lengthy hiatus from performing.
