1981:
Pantera was formed in Arlington, Texas by the Abbott brothers, Vinnie Paul (drums) and Dimebag Darrell (guitar), along with Terry Glaze (vocals) and Rex Brown (bass).
Early Albums - Released several glam metal albums including "Metal Magic" (1983), "Projects in the Jungle" (1984), and "I Am the Night" (1985).
1987:
Phil Anselmo replaced Terry Glaze as the lead vocalist.
1990:

Breakup - The band disbanded due to internal conflicts and side projects.

Tragedy - Dimebag Darrell was tragically shot and killed on stage during a performance with his new band, Damageplan.
