Eminem (born Marshall Bruce Mathers III on October 17, 1972) is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He is one of the best-selling music artists of all time and is known for his controversial and influential contributions to hip-hop. It’s fair to say that before him there were no white rappers taken seriously. He pioneered rap to a new audience, disaffected young white kids in rust belt America, voicing their concerns.
1996: Releases his debut album "Infinite” which receives little attention.
1997: Releases the EP "Slim Shady EP” which catches the attention of Dr. Dre.
1999: Releases "The Slim Shady LP” which wins a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and includes the hit single "My Name Is."

2005-2008: Takes a hiatus from music due to personal and health issues.
2009: Returns with "Relapse” followed by "Recovery" in 2010, which includes the hit "Love the Way You Lie" featuring Rihanna.
2013: Releases "The Marshall Mathers LP 2”
2018: Releases "Kamikaze” a surprise album that includes the hit single "Killshot."
2020: Releases "Music to Be Murdered By” which includes the hit single "Godzilla" featuring Juice WRLD.
D12: Eminem was a member of the Detroit-based rap group D12, which released successful albums in the early 2000s.
