Benny's Blues

This was a collaboration with Mark Dorricott on Soundcloud. It's back to my roots with this Chicago blues tune

Between The Sheets

This is my smooth jazz guitar version of the great Isley Brothers song. It's done more in the style of Fourplay who covered it famously. I play High Bass, lead guitar, and piano solo on this.

Big Girls Don't Cry

Kinda FM rock. The sort of track you might hear on the TV show Glee. Feat AJ Lewis on vocals. Inna on backing vocals.

Billie Jean

Here's my smooth jazz guitar version of the 1982 classic hit from the Thriller album.

A modern re-imagining of the classic Weather Report track by the cream of jazz players on Soundcloud

Black Cow

Plenty of melody and emotion to hang your hat on in this tune. I opt for a nice clean 'American' sound to get my Ovation Breadwinner over. Another from the Aja album. The Steelys are nothing, if not commercial. "Black Cow" was written by Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, the co-front, core members of the band Steely Dan. It was released as the B-side of the single version of "Josie," which reached #26 on the US Hot 100. Two other singles released from the same album charted even better. Note the deceptively simple disco-era instrumental starting out with a bass line and drums, then sneaking in layers of complexity with saxophone accompaniment and an electric piano solo. Steely Dan made a name for themselves for having highly polished productions.

Black Friday

The average Steely Dan Track has forty (very difficult) chord changes in quick succession so Black Friday is the exception that proves the rule! It's basically a blues so I've taken that to its obvious conclusion and done it as a blues guitar version.

Black Market

Here's one of my Fave Weather Report tracks. I bought it on Vinyl, cassette tape, and CD so the next logical step was to record it!

Blue Bossa

Devian Zikri's arrangement updates the bossa nova beat of this Latin Jazz standard. Don't miss the drum solo at 3 minutes 10 seconds. Blue Bossa is a composition by Kenny Dorham. It was introduced on Joe Henderson's 1963 album Page One on, yes you've guessed it, Blue Note records.

Blue In Green

Another Miles Davis track from his landmark Kind of Blue album. On it I play my Nylon stringed electro acoustic again. Blue in Green's structure is modal. It has long been speculated that pianist Bill Evans wrote it, not Miles. See if you can spot my nod to 'So What' on it!
